How to configure iSCSI on vSAN

iSCCI is one of the best option where we can use our vSAN datastore from outside. We an configure our vSAN enabled ESXi hosts as iSCSI target.This help us to configure guest level clustering also.

Login to vCenter

Select the cluster

Select Configure

Click on edit button which in line with vSAN iSCSI Target Server option under vSAN services configuration

Select vmk0 adapter from Default iSCSI net(Here I have selected my default management network)

I’m using default port(3260)

I’m not using authentication for this lab setup.

Also I have selected default vSAN policy

    Now we can create ISCSI tagets

Select the ESXi cluster

Click on Configure

Select iSCSI Target Services under vSAN

Click on Add button

Assign name for Alias field and click on OK

Now we can add lun to this iSCSI

We can assign LUN ID, alias for this new disk & capacity

    Now we can mount this iSCSI disk to windows server

Open iSCSI initiator from windows server

Click on Discovery tab

Click on Discover portal

We can add one or two ESXi hosts as target servers

    Click on Target

Select the lun and click on connect

Select Enable multi-path and click on OK

    Now we can see the disk from Windows disk manager
