This is a very useful feature when its working with changes. This is the easiest way to restore our vCenter.
As a destination backup media we need to have http, https, ftp or ftps server. Since I had windows server. Just I add web roles with ffp feature sfrom server manager.
Once I completed that process. I have to do the following configuration on windows server.
Open Internet information service manager
Select Sites and > Select Add FTP sites from right pane > give a path to ftp site
Select No SSL, Select Start FTP site automatically and click on next
Select both Anonymous and basic authentication, Select Allow access to al users, Select Read & Write permission and click on next
Check the ftp site from one of my client.(First I just accessed the site and create a backup folder inside that)
Open vCenter VAMi page using port 5480> Select Backup > Click on Backup now
Assign the backup path with protocol(here its ftp)
Provide credential
Click on start
Backup is running now
We can schedule this backup also.To do this , click on configure
Provide the same details , what we have provided earlier. Other than that we need to give the backup schedule and retention period
How to restore this backup .
To restore this backup , we need to have vCenter installation media
Go to the win32 folder and open installer.exe
Click on Restore
Click on next
Click on Next
Give the backup path and credential
Go inside and select the folder
Click on next
Give ESXi server name to deploy new virtual appliance, After that next few steps are same as deploying new appliance in the enviorement

Click on Next
Click on Next
If you have already running the Vcenter with same ip or dns , need to shut down and continue
